THE OPPORTUNITY


This is a high-impact executive leadership role with North America-wide responsibility. As Senior Vice President, you will lead the strategic and operational growth of Seaboard’s Bulk Transportation Division, overseeing both asset-based and non-asset logistics businesses. You will be accountable for multiple P&Ls, managed through integrated reporting platforms, and will drive performance across safety, service, financial, and human capital metrics.



The role’ s preferred base would be out of Seaboard’s GTA office, with Montreal as a secondary location. You will also play a key role in expanding our U.S. operations. This is a growth-focused opportunity for a visionary leader who can scale infrastructure, identify and integrate acquisitions, and build high-performing teams. You will work closely with corporate leadership and regional operations to ensure alignment with strategic goals and deliver exceptional results.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead full P&L oversight across multiple business units, with monthly consolidated reviews.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives, including organic expansion and acquisition integration.
  • Oversee operational planning, asset management, and infrastructure development.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through on-time delivery, service reliability, and proactive communication.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship across all operations.
  • Lead weekly operations meetings and monthly income statement reviews.
  • Develop and execute driver and owner-operator growth and retention strategies.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through robust hiring, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions (Finance, Risk, Procurement, etc.) to optimize divisional performance.
  • Ensure accurate billing, settlements, and real-time actualization of work.
  • Manage cost control initiatives and instill a culture of financial ownership

CANDIDATE PROFILE


  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or industrial services, with a strong preference for bulk transport ( chemical liquid & dry bulk, bulk industrial commodities, food liquid & dry bulk)
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-site operations across North America.
  • Experience leading both asset-based and non-asset logistics businesses.
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth through acquisitions and organic expansion.
  • Familiarity with Peoplenet and TMW, and working with integrated financial database reporting platforms
  • Experience working with unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Background in managing safety-sensitive operations and compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and environmental regulations.

Education and Certifications


Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred, with a focus on operations, strategy, or leadership.


Certifications:


  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Safety and compliance certifications such as Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), HAZMAT, or ISO 9001/14001 familiarity are advantageous.
  • Training in Lean Six Sigma, Change Management, or Strategic Planning is a plus.
  • Current or Previous association with NTTC (National Tank Truck Carriers Association)
