Our client is a well-established provider of alternative risk management and insurance solutions with a strong international presence. With operations in Guernsey, they deliver innovative and compliant financial services to a wide portfolio of clients.
They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Client Accounting Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality service delivery across a range of client accounts while supporting the ongoing development of the accounting function.
Role Overview
As Senior Client Accounting Manager, you will deliver a professional and timely client accounting service, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial and regulatory information. Acting as Client Service Director for several accounts, you'll liaise with internal teams and client boards to uphold excellent service standards and compliance.
This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience in the insurance or financial services sectors, looking for a senior interim position with flexibility and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service
Present financial, tax, treasury, and compliance matters at client board meetings.
Oversee accounting, tax, regulatory, and treasury responsibilities to meet agreed deadlines.
Liaise with regulators, auditors, tax authorities, banks, and legal advisers.
Prepare and review management accounts, statutory financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with UK/US GAAP, IFRS, and SORPs.
Monitor investment activity and manage financial risk exposures.
File all relevant tax returns and maintain compliance with tax obligations.
Monitor solvency and capital adequacy; prepare regulatory returns.
Maintain statutory records, due diligence files, and ensure all filings are up to date.
Team & Leadership
Provide technical support and mentorship to Client Executives.
Act as a point of contact for client strategic matters and attend board meetings.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent communication and service delivery.
Review business plans, insurance documents, and regulatory submissions.
Act as Director or Alternate Director for client entities, where appropriate.
Business Operations
Adhere to internal policies and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate time recording and participate in team initiatives.
Represent the company at relevant meetings and contribute to process improvements.
Skills & Experience
Recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Strong background in client accounting, ideally within financial services or insurance.
Excellent knowledge of accounting frameworks and regulatory obligations.
Confident communicator with board-level presentation experience.
Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Highly organised, analytical, and proactive in managing priorities.
