The role will offer the new joiner the chance to gain exposure to a range of interesting matters including commercial development projects, planning applications, local plans and appeals, major development projects and urban renewal, and compulsory purchase and compensation. The team also advise on highways law (including road closures and diversions), Section 106 and related planning and infrastructure agreements, and negotiations with planning authorities.
The firm are looking for an ambitious Planning Associate that can hit the ground running and genuinely enjoys this area of law. Such a candidate may be at a private practice law firm or currently working at a local authority - the key for the firm is that they are willing to throw themselves into the new position. The team is regularly instructed to work with commercial property owners, investors and developers including house builders, numerous housing associations, as well as local authorities and other public sector bodies so experience of this would be of particular interest to the firm.
