Job Title: Financial Controller/ Head of Finance Location: Derby Remuneration: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
Join a dynamic organisation as a Financial Controller and play a key role in shaping financial performance. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy of financial information and support strategic initiatives. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Assist the finance director in preparing monthly board packs.
- Guarantee the integrity of financial data and adherence to accounting standards.
- Monitor and report on KPI performance throughout the month.
- Provide actionable financial insights to guide operational and strategic decisions.
- Manage cash flow forecasts and enhance working capital.
- Collaborate with various business units to align with strategic objectives.
- Partner with managers to track monthly revenue and cash collection targets effectively.
- Work alongside department heads to bolster financial planning and performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director and senior leadership team.
- Oversee client money management in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (training provided).
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Support year-end statutory accounts and audits.
- Develop and mentor the finance team in financial accounting, business intelligence, and client money management.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance role.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially savvy with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Solid technical accounting skills and a good grasp of regulatory frameworks.
