The Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) is a non-departmental public body responsible to the Scottish Government. We are an ethical organisation, carrying out rewarding work that can have a considerable impact on members of the public lives. Our main purpose is to manage and improve continuously, publicly funded legal assistance and to advise Scottish Ministers on its strategic development for the benefit of society.


We are seeking to appoint the Head of Digital Services, who will be responsible for the overall management, development, support and leadership of SLAB's digital projects and services to support the delivery of strategic and operational excellence across SLAB, with a focus on meeting customer needs and delivering organisational priorities. You will be responsible for leading the I.T. infrastructure and digital delivery, ensuring the security and integrity of SLAB's data through a robust cyber resilience framework.


This is a key role that will lead on the SLAB digital services plan, which will drive technology, infrastructure, cyber security, cloud strategy, IT operations and technology innovation. SLAB's digital services plan supports a Digital first strategy in line with Scottish Government. As a member of the Corporate Services management team, the Head of Digital Services has a vital role in helping to drive SLAB forward to meet its corporate objectives. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will represent SLAB in systems matter and liaise directly with various stakeholders; Executive Team, SLAB Senior Management, Legal Aid solicitors, Law Society of Scotland, Scottish Government, Board Members, third party suppliers


The Head of Digital Services will bring a wealth of expertise in digital strategy, technology infrastructure, and organisational transformation. With a degree in Technology or related field and a cyber security certification, this role requires a leader with proven experience in developing and executing large-scale digital strategies that drive change and deliver high-impact results. You will have a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Your ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders will be essential to aligning digital initiatives with the organisation's goals.
