The Opportunity
An ambitious, forward-thinking law firm is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join its collaborative HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, people-focused environment where you'll be encouraged to take ownership of your career and make a real impact.
You'll play a key role in supporting the firm's people strategy, providing trusted HR advice, and helping to create a culture where everyone can thrive. Reporting to the HR Managers, you'll work with a range of client groups across the business and manage an HR Assistant to ensure a high-quality, seamless HR service.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR adviser to defined client groups, supporting the full employee lifecycle
- Advise on onboarding, probation, flexible working, secondments, and global mobility (including immigration)
- Lead on processes such as annual appraisals and salary reviews, including market research
- Manage employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance issues
- Support diversity, inclusion, and change management initiatives
- Conduct exit interviews and identify trends to inform continuous improvement
- Support recruitment activity where appropriate
- Contribute to HR projects and act as subject matter expert on defined topics
- Line manage and develop an HR Assistant
About You
- Significant generalist HR experience gained in the legal sector
- Sound understanding of employee relations and global mobility (including visa and immigration processes)
- Confident using HR systems and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- Commercially aware, proactive, and well organised
- Able to manage competing priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure
- Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
