HR & Payroll Officer | Kensington, London
LHH is recruiting for a hands-on HR & Payroll Officer to join a well-regarded educational establishment in London. This is a predominantly HR role with responsibility for supporting the full employee lifecycle for approximately 200 staff, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, pensions, compliance, and HR administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing recruitment, onboarding, and pre-employment checks
- Payroll administration in partnership with an outsourced provider
- Pensions administration and liaising with pension providers
- Updating and maintaining HR systems and employee records
- Advising senior leaders on HR matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, and capability
- Administering safeguarding training and compliance requirements
- Supporting probation, appraisals, and exit interviews
- Ensuring HR data is accurate, up to date, and GDPR compliant
Requirements:
- Previous HR and payroll experience, ideally in an education setting (Cintra/Breathe systems advantageous)
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion
- Professional, tactful, and confident working with colleagues at all levels
