We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Corporate Counsel (8+ years PQE) to join our clients legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, commercially-minded lawyer with experience in retail or consumer-facing industries to support a wide range of business functions and make a real impact.

The Role:


You will work as a trusted legal advisor to several key areas of the business, supply chain , brand partnerships, franchise/licensed business operations, and marketing.


You'll be part of a team that is transitioning towards more proactive processes, working to streamline current practices and enable business units to become more agile.

Key Responsibilities:


  • General Commercial Support: Provide timely legal advice and support to a variety of business functions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while managing risks.

  • Franchise/License Support: Advise on day-to-day legal matters involving franchise and licensed business operations, drafting and negotiating relevant agreements.

  • Supply Chain Focus: Lead legal support for supply chain operations, negotiating purchase agreements and ensuring efficiency across high-volume contracts.

  • Marketing & Advertising: Advise the marketing team on product claims, advertising strategies, and consumer law issues to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Brand Partnerships & Loyalty Programs: Support brand collaborations and loyalty programs, negotiating aggregator contracts and managing associated legal risks.

  • Process Improvement: Work to implement more structured legal processes, moving from reactive to proactive approaches to business challenges.

  • Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with other legal team members and external counsel where necessary, leveraging resources to handle complex or high-value work.

What We're Looking For:


  • Qualified Solicitor (UK jurisdiction) with a minimum of 8 years PQE in general commercial law, ideally with experience in retail, consumer, or franchise-based businesses.

  • Proven track record of managing supply chain agreements, marketing matters, and franchise/licensing business operations.

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work autonomously, advising stakeholders across a variety of business units.

  • Experience with process improvement and an interest in helping the business transition to more efficient legal operations.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to interact at all levels, including senior management.

  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
