Our client, a prestigious law firm with a strong presence across London, Cambridge, Reading, and Southampton, is seeking an experienced Employment Senior Associate to join their dynamic Employment team in the Thames Valley area. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to advance their career while providing exceptional legal services to mid-market clients.


### About the Role


As a key member of the Employment team, you will be instrumental in advising clients on a diverse range of employment-related matters. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Providing comprehensive advice on various employment issues, including recruitment, discrimination, disciplinary actions, grievances, sickness absence, family rights, unfair dismissal, redundancy, and whistleblowing.
  • Drafting, advising on, and negotiating settlement agreements for both employers and individuals.
  • Managing employment tribunal cases, from initial advice through to settlement, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and preparing hearing bundles.
  • Advising on restrictive covenants and employment aspects of corporate transactions, including TUPE and conducting due diligence.
  • Preparing seminar and marketing materials while actively participating in events.
  • Leading business development initiatives for the Reading team and supervising junior members of staff, fostering their professional growth.

### Key Requirements


  • A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in Employment Law.
  • Proven track record in managing complex employment disputes and providing strategic commercial advice.
  • Strong drafting skills and the ability to handle a diverse workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • A proactive approach to business development and a commitment to achieving targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor junior colleagues.
