FP&A Director
Location: On‑site, approximately 30–45 minutes south of Austin, Texas
Compensation: $175,000–$225,000 base salary + bonus
Schedule: 100% in‑office
About the Opportunity
A fast‑growing, private‑equity–backed manufacturing company located just south of Austin is transforming its finance function and is searching for an impact‑driven FP&A Director to help lead that evolution. The company has recently completed a significant capital raise, is experiencing rapid scale, and is investing heavily in building modern systems, processes, and performance analytics.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑visibility, strategically critical role reporting directly to the CFO. You’ll operate as a true business partner, a builder of financial infrastructure, and a driver of accountability across the organization. If you’re energized by growth environments, excited by systems‑forward FP&A, and motivated by shaping the future of a finance organization from the ground up — this role offers immediate influence and long‑term leadership potential.
What You’ll Lead
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead forecasting, budgeting, long‑range planning, and scenario modeling.
Design and implement system‑driven reporting and analytics, reducing reliance on spreadsheets.
Deliver executive‑level performance packages with insights, variance analysis, and actionable recommendations.
Build dashboards and tools that improve visibility into costs, operations, headcount, and production drivers.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
Serve as the CFO’s strategic partner — offering independent perspective, data‑driven judgment, and constructive challenge.
Partner cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, engineering, and business leaders to identify pain points and improve performance.
“Tell the story through the numbers” by translating complex operational and financial data into clear, compelling narratives.
Systems, Data, & Analytics Modernization
Champion the transition from manual Excel‑heavy workflows to modern ERP and analytics platforms (SAP strongly preferred).
Build a scalable analytics foundation, including KPIs, dashboards, and automated reporting tools.
Shape the long‑term financial systems architecture in partnership with IT and operations.
Strategic Initiatives & Value Creation
Support pricing, capital allocation decisions, investment modeling, and scenario planning.
Contribute to PE reporting, board deliverables, and investor‑related activities.
Strengthen financial discipline and operational alignment across the organization.
What You Bring
Experience
10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including prior FP&A leadership.
FP&A is the most critical experience area.
Broader corporate finance, strategic finance, or similar leadership roles are highly valued.
Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred — especially cost structures and operational metrics.
Experience in PE‑backed companies, capital markets, or IPO readiness is a plus.
Big 4 or large national accounting firm experience is a plus.
Technical Strength
Systems‑forward mindset — you prefer pulling, modeling, and analyzing data from enterprise tools over manual spreadsheets.
SAP experience (SAP S/4, SAP Analytics Cloud) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, modeling, and financial storytelling capabilities.
Leadership & Style
Energetic, direct communicator with strong business acumen.
Independent thinker who takes initiative and sets priorities proactively.
Thrives in high‑growth, evolving environments without rigid structure.
Performance‑driven, intellectually curious, and comfortable influencing senior leaders.
Why This Role Is Exceptional
Massive impact on shaping the future of the finance function.
CFO visibility and partnership in every strategic decision.
Transformational ownership — modernizing systems, analytics, and operational rigor.
Succession potential — meaningful long‑term leadership runway.
Opportunity to build — a true “architect” role for a finance leader who wants to leave a lasting imprint.
