LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client growing company in Bellevue, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.
Ensure invoices are coded accurately to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.
Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Payment Management:
Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain vendor payment schedules and adhere to agreed payment terms.
Monitor and address outstanding payments or duplicate invoices.
Vendor Relationship Management:
Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
Maintain updated vendor records, including W-9s and banking information for ACH payments.
Reconciliation and Reporting:
Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly.
Assist in preparing accounts payable reports, including aging reports and cash flow forecasts.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate data and documentation.
Compliance and Process Improvement:
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and recommend improvements to streamline the accounts payable process.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Key Competencies:
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
