LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client growing company in Bellevue, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.



Job Summary:


The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Invoice Processing:


  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.


  • Ensure invoices are coded accurately to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.


  • Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly.


  • Payment Management:


  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.


  • Maintain vendor payment schedules and adhere to agreed payment terms.


  • Monitor and address outstanding payments or duplicate invoices.


  • Vendor Relationship Management:


  • Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.


  • Maintain updated vendor records, including W-9s and banking information for ACH payments.


  • Reconciliation and Reporting:


  • Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly.


  • Assist in preparing accounts payable reports, including aging reports and cash flow forecasts.


  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate data and documentation.


  • Compliance and Process Improvement:


  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.


  • Identify and recommend improvements to streamline the accounts payable process.


Qualifications:



  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.


  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.


Key Competencies:



  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.


  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies effectively.



Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
