We are seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to oversee sanitation operations within a food manufacturing facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring all cleaning, food safety, and quality processes are executed effectively while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on supervision, coaching, and direction to sanitation team members in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules (Master Cleaning Schedule)
  • Oversee sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and internal audits to ensure compliance
  • Supervise shift sanitation staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, SQF, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, and environmental standards
  • Manage CIP/COP systems and cleaning of food contact surfaces
  • Monitor chemical usage, inventory, and employee chemical safety training
  • Oversee pest control, glass and brittle plastic programs, and facility color-coding initiatives
  • Maintain documentation, track sanitation work orders, and complete required reporting
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Promote a strong culture of food safety, quality, and workplace safety
  • Conduct required equipment and safety trainings (including forklift/PIT and LOTO)
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within sanitation operations
  • Additional duties as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, schedule, and develop sanitation team members
  • Recruit, onboard, and train staff while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
  • Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and support employee development
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience in sanitation within food or beverage manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Experience with CIP/COP systems and chemical handling
  • Ability to develop sanitation procedures and effectively train employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a production environment with physical demands
