Job Title: Contract Administrator
Location: Burbank, CA 91506
Work Schedule: In-office M-F 8am to 5pm Monday–Thursday; Remote Fridays
Pay Rate: $37.50/hour
Contract Duration: Minimum 3-month contract
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to support multiple television series across network and streaming platforms. This role requires strong expertise in entertainment contracts, guild rules, and business affairs processes, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and/or support contract administration for multiple television series
Set up and oversee payments for writers’ rooms in accordance with talent agreements and guild rules
Interpret and administer Business Affairs agreements and entertainment contracts
Handle all aspects of Episodic Director deals from negotiation through payment
Communicate with talent representatives regarding payment schedules and inquiries
Collaborate with production teams, including line producers, coordinators, and accountants
Liaise with production teams regarding schedules and payroll for directors, writers, and above-the-line (ATL) talent
Monitor the status of all active series to provide coverage when needed
Ensure timely processing of start paperwork for ATL talent
Support junior team members with tasks such as:
WGA deal memos and worklists
Piecemeal payments (recap/reuse, character payments, agency package payments, WGA/DGA disputes)
Stay up to date on WGA and DGA guild rules and ensure compliance with payment requirements
Serve as a resource for guild-related inquiries
Identify and escalate issues related to payments, talent, or scheduling
Attend meetings to stay informed on current and upcoming productions
Basic Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and sound judgment
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with entertainment contracts and Business Affairs agreements
Experience in a studio or law firm environment
Background in Business Affairs and contract administration
Familiarity with complex legal agreements and terminology
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with database systems such as BLAST, IDeA, SAP, and Airtable (preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred
Additional Information
Must be adaptable and able to respond to rapidly changing production and writer’s room schedules
Strong understanding of WGA and DGA guild rules is essential
Pay Details: $37.50 per hour
