Job Posting: Legal Billing and Payment Specialist

Hourly Rate: $37.50/hr

Role Overview: As a Legal Billing and Payment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the payment and incoming funds processes for both internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and responding to inquiries, researching and resolving payment-related issues, collaborating with international partners, and ensuring compliance with billing guidelines. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining system workflows, administering the eBilling system, and providing training to new hires.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage and assist with internal and external stakeholders regarding payment and incoming funds processes.


  • Approach all work with a problem-solving mindset and focus on process optimization.


  • Review and respond to requests and questions from the centralized Legal eBilling email in a timely manner.


  • Research and act on findings related to payment processes, including account coding and invoice resolution.


  • Communicate with outside counsel in a collaborative style to manage non-compliance with billing guidelines.


  • Manage system workflows interfacing with Middleware and SAP to facilitate invoice payment.


  • Provide feedback on issues to support updates of subsequent billing guidelines.


  • Escalate issues and concerns as required to the appropriate manager.


  • Research incoming funds, assign account coding, and process deposits.


  • Assist with maintaining the Legal Billing page of the Legal Intranet.


  • Develop collaborative working relationships within the Legal function and the broader organization.


Requirements:



  • Prior legal invoicing experience preferred.


  • Familiarity with Legal Tracker is a plus.


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.


  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.


  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
