LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a well?established, multi?office professional services organization is seeking a Director of Finance / Accounting to lead all accounting and financial operations. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to managing shareholders, with a clear and well?documented succession path to CFO.

This position is ideal for a hands?on finance leader with strong technical expertise, experience in structured environments, and comfort partnering closely with executive leadership. The organization operates with a sophisticated ownership, compensation, and governance structure and values accuracy, integrity, and operational excellence.

Director of Finance / Accounting

Compensation: $140,000–$150,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead firmwide accounting and finance operations, including close, reporting, and financial analysis
• Partner with managing shareholders on strategic planning, compensation, profitability, and growth initiatives
• Oversee payroll, benefits, deferred compensation, profit sharing, and shareholder distributions
• Manage billing, collections, cash flow, trust accounting compliance, and banking relationships
• Own audits, tax coordination, internal controls, and financial policies
• Supervise and develop accounting leadership and staff across multiple offices
• Drive process improvement, system optimization, and year?end planning efficiency
• Travel to client meetings and firm offices as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with prior leadership responsibility
• Strong background in professional services accounting, including compensation and complex reporting
• Proven ability to work in confidential, deadline?driven environments
• Experience with accounting systems and advanced financial reporting tools
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
