Quality Engineering Analyst

Employment Type: Full‑Time / Contract‑to‑Hire

Location: On-Site in Costa Mesa California


Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering‑driven organization to hire an Engineering Analyst to support a Quality Engineering Analytics team. This role focuses on data quality, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement within manufacturing and engineering systems.

The ideal candidate brings experience working with engineering, manufacturing, or quality data, is comfortable investigating data accuracy and completeness issues across multiple systems, and can translate complex datasets into actionable insights for cross‑functional stakeholders. This is a hands‑on role well‑suited for candidates who enjoy troubleshooting data issues, improving dashboards, and supporting scalable quality processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support basic analytics and data investigations using established analytics tools and reporting capabilities

  • Run system‑generated reports and evaluate data accuracy, completeness, and variance

  • Investigate nuances in part numbers, BOMs, work orders, inspection records, supplier data, and shop‑floor system entries

  • Troubleshoot dashboard accuracy and usability; recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness

  • Partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve data issues and improve data quality at the source

  • Drive transactional data quality improvement initiatives and help eliminate recurring data errors

  • Support low‑ambiguity continuous improvement projects related to data integrity and reporting

  • Analyze quality and product health data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities

  • Export data from multiple systems and use Excel or other tools to create visual representations, metrics, and summaries

  • Develop and maintain analytics documentation in alignment with quality standards and procedures

  • Share lessons learned and best practices across teams and partner sites


Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or complex production environments, ideally within regulated or highly technical industries

  • Hands‑on experience with quality and manufacturing data sources such as:

    • Quality Management Systems (QMS)

    • ERP / MES / Inventory or Warehouse Management Systems

    • MRB, inspection records, work order management, BOMs, part attributes, supplier data

  • Experience creating reports, descriptive metrics, and performing root cause analysis related to data quality or dashboard issues

  • Experience using dashboarding and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms)

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and basic data visualizations

  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach

  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and communicate technical findings clearly to non‑technical stakeholders

  • Experience using collaboration and project tools such as Slack, Jira, and Confluence


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a data coordinator, quality analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence role

  • Exposure to RCCA, 8D, or other structured root cause and corrective action methodologies

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and aggregating large datasets across multiple systems

  • Experience conducting data‑driven research to deliver insights that influence engineering or quality decisions

  • Familiarity with file‑sharing and documentation platforms such as SharePoint or Box

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adapting quickly to changing priorities and environments

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting data insights to leadership


Ideal Background

Candidates coming from aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or other highly regulated engineering environments will be particularly well aligned. Previous roles may include Quality Data Analyst, Engineering Analyst, Quality Analyst, Manufacturing Data Analyst, or similar positions where data accuracy, reporting, and process insight were critical.

Compensation

Hourly Pay: $50-70/hr
