Interim Accounting Manager
LHH is assisting with a search for an Interim Accounting Manager for a client in Olathe, KS. In this role you will be responsible for providing interim support to our Supply Chain team during a period of organizational transition. This role will serve as the primary finance business partner for freight, warehouse, and logistics operations, ensuring continuity in centralized financial processes across multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities. This is a hands-on role ideal for a senior-level finance professional with a strong background in supply chain and logistics finance. The position is temporary for at least 3-6 month, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right person and working on-site 3-4 days/week. Read below for additional details.
MAIN JOB DUTIES:
Lead centralized financial processes related to freight, logistics, and procurement.
Maintain and enforce compliance with standard costing systems and internal costing policies.
Provide financial insights and support for cost-efficiency initiatives and operational improvement projects.
Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical audits.
Manage obsolete and slow-moving inventory, recommending disposition strategies.
Ensure accurate inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation across multiple distribution centers.
Prepare month-end reports and reconciliations related to plant and logistics operations.
Ensure accurate recording of freight and logistics costs in alignment with standard costing.
Analyze complex data to deliver actionable insights that support operational decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience in manufacturing finance, with a strong focus on logistics, freight, and procurement.
Deep understanding of cost accounting and inventory valuation.
Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with operational and financial stakeholders.
