Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a one-hour lunch break,
Targeted Start Date: February 10th
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a 6-month maternity leave. This role is crucial in supporting our municipal government operations, with a heavy focus on accounts payable and other accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a significant volume of accounts payable for municipal, utilities, vendors, public works, water, and sewer.
- Record deposits and maintain accurate financial records.
- Input purchase orders and manage related paperwork.
- Perform daily tasks such as answering phones, filing, copying, and scanning documents.
- Assist with general accounting clerk duties as needed.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all financial transactions.
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, specifically Edmunds GovTech.
- Familiarity with municipal government operations and accounting practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
