The payroll specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll using ADP systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with federal and state regulations, and the ability to manage multi-state payroll operations. This role is temp to hire and will pay between $22 and $32/hr.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll through ADP, including data entry, validation, and transmission.
 - Review and reconcile timekeeping data from systems such as Kronos before submitting to ADP.
 - Maintain employee payroll records and ensure updates for new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
 - Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, and special payments accurately.
 - Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
 - Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies promptly.
 - Prepare and submit payroll-related reports for internal and external audits.
 - Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate benefits deductions and reporting.
 - Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and tax filings.
 
Qualifications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll platforms.
 - Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and multi-state payroll practices.
 - Proficiency in timekeeping systems such as Kronos is preferred.
 - Excellent organizational and communication skills.
 - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
 - Certifications such as FPC or CPP are desirable.
 
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or human resources preferred but not required
 - Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
