Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for setting up and operating a group of molding machines, making mechanical adjustments or repairs as needed, and ensuring efficient, safe operations. This role oversees quality control, housekeeping, and the supervision of the manufacturing technical team, including maintenance mechanics, technicians, and machine operators.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and tend to blow molding and/or injection molding machines.
Conduct frequent product quality checks (weight, thickness, flash, distribution, shape deviations) and make adjustments to correct malfunctions.
Monitor and adjust heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures, and functioning of extruder and hydraulic systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
Clear conveyor jams and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
Maintain housekeeping and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Complete daily production and team reports accurately.
Perform screen changes and other machine setup tasks as required.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
Lead process engineering projects and equipment automation initiatives.
Maintain machinery and plant equipment.
Supervise technical team members and implement evaluation processes to improve efficiency.
Assess risks and recommend equipment redesign, relocation, or replacement as necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Injection or Blow Molding experience required.
Strong aptitude for mathematics, physical science, and computer applications.
Extensive experience in production systems planning and manufacturing systems design.
Minimum 15 years of process engineering experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
Occasional stair climbing, stooping, kneeling, or bending.
Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, carrying, or feeling objects.
20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction.
Must comply with all safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing).
Reach above shoulder height and below the waist on a frequent basis.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $64,480 – $85,280 per year ($31 – $41/hr)
Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
Paid Time Off (PTO): 2 weeks per year, accrued based on hire date.
Paid Holidays: Standard company-observed holidays.
