We are seeking Cost Accountants to support growing and evolving finance teams. These roles are ideal for accounting professionals who enjoy working close to operations, analyzing cost drivers, and improving financial visibility to support better business decisions.
The Cost Accountant will play a key role in inventory and cost accounting processes, margin analysis, and operational reporting while partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership. This position offers strong exposure to the business, opportunities to drive process improvements, and a clear path for continued growth within the accounting and finance function.
Core Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze product, project, or operational costs, including material, labor, and overhead
Prepare and analyze inventory and cost‑of‑goods‑sold (COGS) calculations and related journal entries
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close activities in accordance with GAAP
Develop and maintain standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
Analyze cost variances and trends, partnering with Operations and Management to explain drivers and recommend corrective actions
Support inventory controls, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations
Assist with bill of materials (BOM) reviews, routing updates, and cost roll‑ups
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure accurate cost capture and reporting
Prepare cost‑related financial reports and analysis for management, highlighting risks, efficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to costs, inventory, and margins
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing cost and inventory support documentation
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and system enhancements within the cost accounting function
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–6+ years of relevant cost accounting experience (manufacturing, industrial, energy, or asset‑intensive environments preferred)
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and COGS
Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliations
Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls related to inventory and costing
Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar platforms preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly
High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Effective communication skills and the ability to partner cross‑functionally with non‑finance stakeholders
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
