LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to manage the daily functions of the HR department, including compensation, performance management, employee relations, occupational health and safety, training, and compliance with employment laws.

  • Work Schedule: Core hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday; 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Fridays.


Job Overview:


The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in employee relations and performance management investigations, with experience handling sensitive workplace issues, investigations, and resolving complex employee concerns. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years of HR experience who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientations and exit interviews.


  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, particularly in the areas of employee relations and performance management, referring complex or sensitive matters to the Director of HR.


  • Oversee the performance management process, including annual reviews, performance improvement plans, career pathing, and employee development, with a strong focus on performance investigations and conflict resolution.


  • Lead and manage employee relations investigations, ensuring timely and fair resolutions to complaints, concerns, and misconduct.


  • Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on employee relations issues, including performance-related challenges, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.


  • Develop and lead employee recognition and engagement programs.


  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR policies and practices are up to date.


  • Provide support for the implementation and execution of HR policies and procedures.


  • Lead training initiatives, including occupational health, safety, and wellness programs.


  • Maintain HRIS system data integrity and generate ad hoc reports as needed.


  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, with a particular emphasis on performance management and employee relations matters.


  • Provide backup for Payroll & Benefits Specialist as needed.


  • Assist with the development of sourcing strategies for recruitment and support HR projects as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the HR department as needed.


  • Assist with performance evaluations and constructive feedback.


We are looking for candidates who possess:



  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including substantial work with employee relations and performance management investigations.


  • Strong investigative skills in handling sensitive employee relations issues, such as complaints, misconduct, and performance concerns.


  • A proven ability to manage conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback to leadership and staff.


  • Experience conducting and leading performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.


  • Strong understanding of labor and employment laws and the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world HR scenarios.


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to address complex issues clearly and diplomatically.


  • High level of proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical and reporting skills.


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times, particularly when dealing with sensitive employee issues.


  • Experience in designing and leading employee engagement and recognition programs.


  • A collaborative mindset with a team-first mentality and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.


  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities, with a strong attention to detail.


  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least one year of employee relations and performance management investigations experience preferred.


  • At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


  • SHRM/PHR certification preferred.


  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws, regulations, and best practices.


  • Experience managing and investigating employee relations issues, performance problems, and conflicts in the workplace.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related HR software.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.


  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.


  • Highly adaptable, proactive, and able to take initiative.


Working Environment:



  • Hybrid schedule with one remote day per week (Mon-Thurs), and optional remote Fridays with a half-day.


  • Core hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday; 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Fridays.
