Tax Associate

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a globally integrated energy trading company who is looking to hire a Tax Associate for their Houston office. The ideal candidate will be able to stand alone in a corporate tax role and help bridge the gap between their teams in New York. This is a newly created position and a great opportunity to step into a very rewarding role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· This position is responsible for tax compliance and tax advisory tasks including; state income and indirect tax compliance, tax return preparation, tax payments, and handling tax audits.

· Federal excise tax compliance for the import business segment.

· Tax advisory to business departments in the Houston branch office.

· Compliance with state and local indirect tax filings mainly for personal property tax on fixed assets

Qualifications:

· 3+ year’s of related corporate tax experience, from industry or public accounting.

· OneSource income tax preparation software experience.

· Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and Word.
