Job Title: Leave of Absence Specialist

LHH recruitment solutions is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist to join our HR team. This role involves managing leave of absence claims across North America, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees and internal stakeholders.


Location: Irvine, CA 92602 - 100% Onsite – Full Time Mon – Fri / 40 hours


Compensation: $25.00 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee leave of absence claims in collaboration with a third-party administrator

  • Track and analyze leave data using HRIS systems and Excel

  • Respond to inquiries from state agencies and insurance providers regarding disability and leave programs

  • Provide timely and professional customer service via phone, email, and mail

  • Support outsourced leave administration and collaborate with HR, workers’ compensation, and legal teams

  • Facilitate the interactive process with managers and HR to document reasonable accommodations

  • Stay current with leave-related regulations and ensure full compliance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in human resources in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Basic understanding of HR concepts and labor laws

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field

  • Knowledge of FMLA, military leave, and other applicable laws

  • Experience with leave and benefits integration

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with minimal exposure to extreme temperatures

  • Requires sitting, computer work, and occasional light physical activity

  • Drug screening may be required as permitted by law

  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities



Pay Details: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
