LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk??to join our client-growing company in Issaquah, WA. This position will be a 5-week contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing and maintaining accurate payroll records, ensuring timely and compliant payments to employees. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll systems and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing:
Collect and verify employee timesheets, work hours, and attendance records.
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
Prepare and issue paychecks or direct deposit payments.
Compliance and Recordkeeping:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audits.
Handle tax withholdings, garnishments, and other deductions.
Employee Support:
Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Provide assistance to employees with payroll forms and tax documents.
System Maintenance:
Enter and update employee information in payroll software.
Generate payroll reports for management as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate???s or Bachelor???s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred).
Previous experience in payroll or accounting is highly desirable.
Skills:
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, or similar).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Familiarity with payroll regulations, including FLSA and tax laws.
Attributes:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
Office-based with potential for hybrid/remote options.
Occasional overtime during payroll deadlines or year-end reporting.
