Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday
Pay: $18–$20/hr (based on experience)

About the Role

Our client in Knoxville is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join their team in a fully onsite role. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, familiar with insurance billing processes, and thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment. The Medical Biller will support revenue cycle functions, ensure accurate claim processing, and help maintain strong reimbursement workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance carriers

  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies

  • Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile account balances

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and update billing information

  • Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients regarding billing questions

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and industry regulations

  • Support the revenue cycle team with special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of Medical Billing experience required

  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10, and insurance billing guidelines

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work onsite in Knoxville, TN
