Contract Litigation Attorney
Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA
Salary: $65 to $75 per hour
Job Type: Contract/Contract to Hire, Hybrid (Occasional In-Office Days), Full-Time
A small, boutique law firm in Century City is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This role offers mentorship, a supportive environment, and room for growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in general civil litigation with complex securities as a plus, and be comfortable handling deposition-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
Conduct and defend depositions, including witness preparation and post-deposition analysis
Draft and serve deposition notices, subpoenas, and related discovery documents
Perform legal research and analysis to support deposition strategy and case development
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess case strengths, weaknesses, and settlement options
Prepare case files, exhibits, and summaries for hearings and trial preparation
Communicate with opposing counsel regarding scheduling, discovery disputes, and case updates
Assist in drafting motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents as needed
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the California State Bar
Minimum 1 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Strong understanding of civil procedure and deposition strategy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
