A globally recognized advanced composites manufacturer is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer III to take technical ownership of high-performance composite production operations in Morgan Hill, CA. This organization supplies engineered materials used across aerospace, defense and space markets. Its thermoset and thermoplastic composite technologies support critical structural applications in both commercial and military platforms worldwide.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and is ready to drive measurable improvements in uptime, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end process optimization efforts across continuous composite manufacturing operations, improving throughput, reducing scrap, and enhancing process control.
Conduct root cause investigations using RCCA, PFMEA, SPC/SQC, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to resolve production, quality, and equipment issues.
Oversee engineering trials, capital upgrades, and production integration initiatives while collaborating cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Maintenance, R&D, and Quality teams.
Develop and maintain robust manufacturing documentation including work instructions, control plans, routers, BOMs, and quality system compliance standards (AS9100 or equivalent).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
7+ years of experience in aerospace or advanced composite manufacturing, including thermoset and/or thermoplastic resin systems with carbon or glass reinforcement.
Strong expertise in statistical process control, FMEA, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving frameworks (Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior engineers in a high-performance production environment.
Location: Morgan Hill, CA (Onsite) - **Relocation Assistance Available
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $95k – $130k base + 10% annual bonus
