LHH is actively seeking a Medical Information Specialist for one of our top clients! The Medical Information Specialist supports the development, management, and delivery of scientifically accurate medical information content for healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers. This role includes leadership responsibilities, cross-functional collaboration, and oversight of medical inquiry responses to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency across local and global operations.
This is a remote position long term contract opportunity with our client.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Information & Content Management
Manage, maintain, and localize scientifically accurate global and local medical response documents for consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical products.
Write, review, and update global and local medical information content, ensuring alignment with product labeling, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
Ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of responses provided to healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers in the U.S. and globally.
Leverage regional and local insights to identify content gaps and recommend new or updated materials.
Identify efficiencies and opportunities to optimize content creation, review, and maintenance processes.
Perform ongoing literature reviews, critically evaluate scientific data, and organize complex information into clear, compliant responses.
Provide summaries of literature searches for NDA annual reports and assist with medical compendia reviews and FDA submissions.
Inquiry Management & Compliance
Manage medical information inquiries and respond to complex local and global escalations.
Provide medically sound responses to inquiries escalated from contact centers, outsourced partners, and internal stakeholders.
Conduct regular contact center quality checks and support training for internal teams and external partners.
Ensure compliance with medical information requirements, federal regulations, and internal procedures.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and manage direct reports within the U.S. Medical Information team, providing mentorship, performance oversight, and strategic direction.
Serve as a medical and product knowledge resource for colleagues globally.
Collaborate closely with Medical, Regulatory, R&D, Quality, and other cross-functional partners to ensure accurate and compliant responses.
Support cross-functional projects through content development, editing, database management, and process execution.
Suggest and support improvements to policies, procedures, and work instructions used internally and with external vendors.
Innovation & Insights
Provide business stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations based on product knowledge, therapeutic area expertise, and customer interactions.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of innovative channels for medical information dissemination (e.g., chatbots, live chat, mobile applications).
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required
Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MS) in a healthcare-related field preferred
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience in Medical Information or an equivalent function within the pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare industry
At least 1 year of people management experience
At least 1 year of experience writing scientific medical information response documents and managing medical and non-medical consumer healthcare product escalations
Strong understanding of medical information compliance requirements and the ability to incorporate the consumer perspective into responses
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of product labeling and U.S. federal regulations related to OTC and prescription pharmaceutical products
Experience using Salesforce CRM and Veeva Vault Medical/RIM
Pay Details: $40.00 to $46.00 per hour
