LHH is working w/ a client based in Midtown Manhattan that is looking to hire multiple Sr. ScrumMasters for a 6+ month project (very strong possibility of long-term extension). The role will be hybrid and will require 3 days onsite. The ideal candidate will have a some IT Project Management experience.
Candidates MUST be local to the New York City metro area to be considered for this role as you will need to interview onsite in the 1st round. Our client will not accept relocation candidates.
Candidates MUST be willing to work as a w2 employee of LHH to be considered.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to lead agile delivery for high‑impact Finance Technology and AI/ML initiatives. This role requires a confident communicator, a proactive leader, and someone who thrives in fast‑paced, complex environments. You should be able to take direction once, run independently, and consistently demonstrate professionalism and clarity in all interactions.
You’ll guide cross‑functional teams, remove obstacles, drive continuous improvement, and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery for enterprise‑level projects.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple agile teams delivering finance technology and AI/ML solutions
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives
Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define scope and priorities
Track milestones, identify risks, and escalate blockers proactively
Coach team members on Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Use KPIs and delivery metrics to optimize team performance
Remove impediments and protect the team from external distractions
Support backlog grooming and ensure clarity of user stories
Communicate progress, risks, and issues to leadership with clarity
Utilize AI tools to support requirements discovery, user stories, and refinement
Promote transparency, team cohesion, and high‑quality delivery
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or related field
5–10 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with senior‑level leadership preferred
Proven success managing Agile delivery in medium-to-large technology environments
Strong experience in the Banking/Finance sector
Hands‑on experience guiding teams through Agile transformation
Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) and conceptual understanding of Big Data/AI technologies (Spark, Hadoop, TensorFlow, etc.)
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
Experience with project delivery tools
Basic SQL familiarity (nice to have)
Understanding of AI and data‑driven environments (conceptual)
Leadership & Communication
Strong facilitation and conflict‑resolution skills
Ability to simplify complex concepts for stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication
Problem Solving & Adaptability
Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities
Ability to remain flexible in high‑change environments
Domain Knowledge
Prior experience in financial services or fintech strongly preferred
Familiarity with AI‑driven initiatives within a finance context
Preferred Certifications
CSM, PSM, or equivalent Agile certification
PMP is a plus
Pay Details: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour
