Position Title: Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: On-Site in Orange County, CA
Hourly Pay: $45-55/hr (Would convert around $100-115k upon conversion)
LHH is in search of a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer for a contract-to-hire role with a growing legal client of ours in the Orange County Area. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure that software products meet the established quality standards, including reliability, usability, and performance. This role is responsible for identifying software defects through a combination of manual and automated testing so that issues are discovered and resolved prior to release. This position requires hands-on testing and close collaboration within a dedicated QA team, as well as with multiple IT and business teams.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the QA team to implement and maintain QA processes in alignment with established standards and best practices.
Work as part of an Agile development team delivering high quality applications in a fast-paced environment.
Develop, execute, and maintain manual testing methods, procedures, and test cases.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, providing a quality-focused perspective.
Collaborate with Project Management, Scrum Masters, UX, Business Analysis, Development, and other teams to align requirements and delivery expectations.
Partner with the Development team to identify defects and support issues of remediation.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to prioritize work to meet delivery commitments.
Work with onshore and offshore QA engineers to clarify requirements and defects, distribute testing efforts, and manage defect tracking and reporting.
Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and features and evaluate product specifications for testability.
Develop test plans, high-level test scenarios, and detailed test cases to meet business and quality objectives.
Execute test cases, log defects, track progress, evaluate results, and report findings to the development team.
Contribute to continuous improvement of Quality Assurance practices and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, methods, and tools.
Develop and maintain automated test cases using a scalable test framework, as needed.
Support and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities when required.
Accurately report time and track assigned tasks.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance, whether working onsite or remotely.
Perform other business-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required Technical Skills
Experience in structured testing methodologies.
Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), creating project/work level estimates based on requirements and test coverage.
Experience in web-based application testing, including crossbrowser, integration, and mobile device compatibility.
Experience in all phases of testing, including data preparation, test case design, test execution, and analysis of test results.
Experience in functional, regression, smoke, and performance testing.
Experience in test writing and bug reporting tool- Azure DevOps or similar tool.
Experience working with onshore and offshore QA engineers to develop test plans, and test cases, execute all testing, and manage defect tracking and reporting.
Experience with relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience in Web, Mobile, and API testing
Requires 3 to 5 years of experience using Selenium, UFT, or a similar tool, including writing and troubleshooting automation scripts.
5+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with legacy systems
Experience with console-based systems
Experience with custom off-the-shelf systems
Experience with legal business processes
Experience with Salesforce and its integration with other systems
Knowledge of implementing and administering the automation framework of Selenium, UFT, or similar automation too
Non-Technical Attributes:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must communicate in English, both verbally and in writing effectively.
Self-starter who can work well in a solutions-oriented team environment.
Exhibit the ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment.
Good at understanding requirements and getting clarifications.

Ability to work on a project/assignment independently.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in functional, regression, smoke, user acceptance, and performance testing
Understanding of health insurance industry is preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Must be able to communicate face-to-face, through video, and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation.
Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
Working environment is stable, and the noise level is moderate.
Must be able to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
On-call availability as needed.
