Job Description:
Title: AP Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Setting: Hybrid (4 days onsite/1 day remote)
Compensation: $100k - $115k + 15% Bonus + Company Equity + 4 weeks PTO + 401k Matching (100% match up to 5%)
What you'll do:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices and expense reports while maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role involves managing the accounts payable team, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring input accuracy, appropriate general ledger coding, and adherence to company policies.
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of payments to vendors and suppliers, including electronic transfers, checks, and ACH payments.
- Supervise and mentor the accounts payable team, including training, performance evaluations, and career development.
- Allocate tasks and manage workload to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to payments and invoices.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare month end accruals related to accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
- Implement best practices and automation solutions where applicable to assist with standardization across business lines.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Work closely with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Support accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting related to accounts payable.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge in accruals, fixed assets, balance sheet account reconciliations, expense coding, and asset coding.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end audits, providing support, answering questions, and updating process narratives.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or finance with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to dependability and reliability.
- High degree of integrity including the ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information.
- Well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.
- Hands on, self-starting, disciplined, and detail-oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high-volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely.
- Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
