LHH is looking for a Compliance Consultant – Employee Benefits (Health & Welfare) - Remote role, within below approved states.


The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Compliance Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you will advise employers, brokers, TPAs, and PBMs on federal and state compliance requirements related to employer-sponsored benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, and life.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys translating complex regulations into practical, actionable guidance and thrives in a client-facing, advisory role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients nationwide

  • Provide expert guidance on health & welfare benefits compliance

  • Respond to 12–15 compliance inquiries daily via phone and email (24-hour turnaround)

  • Develop and deliver webinars, live trainings, and seminars

  • Write bi-weekly compliance articles

  • Create and enhance compliance tools, resources, and client materials

  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments

  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert and support product innovation

  • Mentor and coach team members

  • Collaborate to improve workflows, processes, and client deliverables

  • Travel occasionally (approximately 2–3 times per year)


Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in employee benefits compliance

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • ERISA

    • COBRA

    • ACA

    • Section 125

    • MHPAEA

    • HIPAA

  • Ability to simplify complex legal/regulatory information into clear guidance

  • Strong analytical, consulting, and business acumen

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven client service orientation

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with compliance research tools such as EBIA Checkpoint or Westlaw preferred


Work Environment

  • Occasional travel for client trainings, conferences, and team meetings
