LHH is seeking a skilled litigation paralegal with 3-5 years of experience in complex litigation, including professional negligence and medical malpractice, to join a law firm based in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with excellent planning and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and has the ability to take initiative. This role involves managing discovery, summarizing extensive litigation documents (including medical records), and preparing exhibits for depositions and trials.

Qualifications:
  • Litigation Support: Experienced in supporting depositions, trial preparation, and trial proceedings
  • Discovery Management: Skilled in managing discovery, including organizing and summarizing extensive documentation
  • Records & Subpoenas: Experienced in preparing authorizations and subpoenas for record retrieval
  • Medical Chronologies & Research: Proficient in creating detailed timelines and medical chronologies and conducting research on medical literature, diagrams, and terminology
  • Court Rules & Guidelines: Familiar with local and state court rules as well as HIPAA guidelines
  • Investigative Skills: Competent in conducting background investigations using social media and internet tools
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, attorneys, experts, and other professionals, complemented by excellent written skills for drafting correspondence and analysis memoranda
  • Billing & Timekeeping: Knowledgeable about timekeeping and insurance defense billing guidelines
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and adept with electronic file management systems
  • Client-Focused & Collaborative: Demonstrated client service orientation and ability to work effectively in a team environment
