Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Bergen County, NJ (On-site, 100%)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Salary: $110,000 + Bonus
Industry: Corporate Services / Tech Consulting


Position Overview

Our client, a well-established organization in Bergen County, is seeking a polished and experienced HR Generalist to support a workforce of approximately 600 employees. This role requires a confident, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in benefits administration, employee relations, and full-cycle HR support. The ideal candidate will be SHRM-certified, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working with high-level stakeholders in a corporate environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration: Manage health, dental, vision, STD/LTD, and vacation cash-out programs; approve QLEs and verify dependent eligibility.

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Conduct I-9 verification, background checks, payroll documentation, and separation processes including legal compliance for final payouts.

  • Employee Relations: Handle complaints, conduct investigations, and advise managers on disciplinary actions and PIPs.

  • Performance Management: Oversee performance reviews, monitor PIPs, and coach managers on employee development.

  • Leave Administration: Manage FMLA, personal leaves, and Unum STD/LTD claims.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Maintain job posters, manage state PTO policies, and complete new hire state reporting.

  • HR Operations: Run reports in Paychex, manage PTO requests, wage garnishments, unemployment claims, and administrative tasks like PPI invoices.

  • Employee Lifecycle Support: Handle promotions, transfers, salary changes, and quarterly promotion announcements.

  • Special Projects: Participate in ad hoc HR initiatives and process improvements.

  • International & Remote Work Oversight: Manage travel outside the U.S. and out-of-state relocations.


Requirements

  • Experience: 5–10 years in a corporate HR environment supporting 100+ employees; experience in industries like tech consulting or corporate services preferred.

  • Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables); experience with Paychex.

  • Communication: Must be articulate, professional, and able to communicate effectively with senior leadership.

  • Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge Areas: Strong understanding of FMLA, reasonable accommodations, performance management, and HR compliance.



Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
