Position: HR Generalist Location: Hayward, CA Employment Type: Direct hire Salary: $85,000 - $95,000


Responsibilities:



  • Manage all Payroll and Human Resources functions, serving as a liaison between employees and management.


  • Update job requirements and descriptions for all positions to maintain the work structure.


  • Establish recruiting and interviewing programs, advise on candidate selection, conduct exit interviews, and recommend changes.


  • Oversee new hire orientation and coordination.


  • Process payroll according to company standards.


  • Handle payroll-related tasks including garnishments, PTO, off-cycle runs, 401k reconciliation, FSA reconciliation, and benefits program management.


  • Maintain updated employee information in the HRIS system.


  • Administer benefits including implementing new plan year rollouts, managing qualifying events, and COBRA administration.


  • Ensure I-9 compliance and manage Workers Comp administration and audit reporting.


  • Respond to governmental agencies regarding employee data inquiries.


  • Ensure termination documentation compliance with labor laws.


  • Advise and counsel managers on disciplinary actions.


  • Oversee performance evaluation schedules.


  • Coordinate company meetings and events.


  • Manage clerical tasks and assist with special projects as needed.


Essential Skills:



  • Ability to interpret written and verbal work instructions.


  • In-depth knowledge of Federal and Local/State labor laws.


  • Familiarity with hiring and termination best practices and legal requirements.


  • Experience in Benefit Administration.


  • Understanding of industry wage trends and structures.


  • Knowledge of I-9 compliance.


  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems for onboarding/offboarding.


  • Familiarity with ATS software.


  • Adaptability to changing work environments while completing essential duties.


  • Professional interaction with employees at all levels.


  • Self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.


Qualifications:



  • 5-8 years of HR Generalist experience.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various computer software programs.


  • Experience with Paycom and Epicor preferred but not required.


  • Strong knowledge of HR and Payroll practices, including Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Industrial Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Payroll Processes.
