Job Title: Data Engineer


Job Description: As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and enhancing our data engineering framework. You will contribute to an infrastructure that centralizes ETL logic and metric definitions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. This role offers the autonomy to design and implement scalable data engineering solutions to address complex business and data challenges.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Create and maintain robust data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.


  • Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs.


  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet their needs.


  • Optimize Data Systems: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data quality, reliability, and efficiency. This includes re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and automating manual processes.


  • Maintain Data Infrastructure: Ensure the ongoing maintenance and optimization of our data infrastructure, including data warehouses and data lakes.


  • Implement Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve our data systems.


  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve data-related issues, ensuring the smooth operation of data pipelines and systems.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in data modeling and data pipeline development.


  • Technical Skills:



    • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and pipeline development.


    • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.


    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery).


    • Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques.


  • Soft Skills:



    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.


    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


    • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.


    • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in data engineering.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in data engineering or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).


  • Additional Skills:



    • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


    • Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts.


    • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
