HR Coordinator (San Francisco, CA)
LHH is teaming up with an established financial services organization in San Francisco, CA in search of an HR Coordinator to support core HR operations during a period of growth and organizational change.
This is a hands-on, contract opportunity supporting a collaborative People & Culture team in a compliance-driven environment. The organization is focused on strengthening operational foundations while modernizing HR processes. This role offers exposure across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, learning systems, and performance management. It is well-suited for an HR professional who enjoys variety, ownership, and contributing during periods of transition.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working without perfectly defined structure. They bring prior HR coordination or operational HR experience, ideally within a regulated setting, and are confident learning systems independently. This individual enjoys process improvement, problem-solving, and stepping in wherever support is needed. Comfort commuting onsite as business requires is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support recruiting and onboarding activities, including interview scheduling and candidate communications
Administer HR systems supporting onboarding, benefits, learning, and performance processes
Provide Learning Management System (LMS) support, including course assignments, completion tracking, and reporting
Assist with performance management processes and documentation
Support benefits administration, including manual benefit adjustments and weekly contribution processing
Coordinate payroll-related data and partner with payroll leadership as needed
Maintain accurate employee records and support audits and regulatory requests
Generate standard HR, training, and compliance reports
Provide general administrative and operational support to the People & Culture team
Qualifications
1–4 years of experience in HR coordination, HR operations, or a related role required
Experience in banking or financial services required
Exposure to Learning Management Systems and comfort managing LMS tasks independently required
Experience using HRIS platforms supporting onboarding, benefits, or performance management required
Hands-on exposure to benefits administration, including manual adjustments and contribution processing required
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through required
Ability to work onsite in San Francisco as business needs dictate required
Job Type: Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid – San Francisco, CA
Hours: Full-time; non-exempt with overtime eligibility
Pay Rate: $24–$30/hour (commensurate with experience)
