Audit Assistant
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA
Contract Type: 6–8 Month Contract
Compensation: $29–$36/hour DOE
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Audit Assistant for a hybrid contract opportunity in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting or audit career who is eager to support internal or external audit processes, assist with documentation, and ensure compliance with financial and operational standards. The Audit Assistant will work closely with auditors, finance teams, and cross-functional departments to gather information, prepare reports, and contribute to accurate, efficient audit workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and execution of internal and external audits
Gather financial data, documentation, and support schedules for audit testing
Perform sample selections, walkthroughs, and basic audit procedures
Help evaluate internal controls and identify potential process gaps
Prepare clear, organized workpapers and audit documentation
Support auditors during fieldwork and follow-up requests
Track and monitor audit findings, remediation steps, and deadlines
Assist with compliance testing, risk assessments, and reporting
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
Contribute to audit-related process improvements and documentation updates
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of experience in accounting, audit, or related financial role preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and internal controls
Experience with audit software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) a plus
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Analytical mindset with an eagerness to learn and grow in audit
