Staff Accountant
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA
Contract Type: 6–8 Month Contract
Compensation: $32–$40/hour DOE

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a hybrid contract opportunity in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who is comfortable owning core general ledger activities, supporting month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The Staff Accountant will collaborate across departments and play a key role in maintaining streamlined and compliant accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end and year-end close tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

  • Prepare balance sheet schedules and support financial reporting

  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash postings as needed

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

  • Support audit requests with proper documentation and schedules

  • Analyze variances and provide explanations for unusual account activity

  • Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

  • Contribute to process improvements and accounting system enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes

  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)

  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
