Tax Assistant
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA
Contract Type: 6–8 Month Contract
Compensation: $29–$36/hour DOE

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Tax Assistant for a hybrid contract opportunity in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for someone early in their tax or accounting career who is eager to support tax preparation, filings, research, and documentation. The Tax Assistant will work closely with tax professionals and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns

• Gather and organize financial documents and tax-related data

• Maintain tax files and documentation in accordance with compliance standards

• Support tax research and help interpret regulations and guidance

• Prepare workpapers and reconciliations to support tax filings

• Review data for accuracy and identify discrepancies

• Assist with quarterly and year-end tax reporting

• Support audits, notices, and tax authority inquiries

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely submission of required information

• Contribute to process improvements and tax documentation updates

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• 1–2 years of tax, accounting, or bookkeeping experience a plus

• Basic understanding of tax concepts and accounting principles

• Experience with tax software (UltraTax, CCH, ProSystem, or similar) preferred

• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization

• Strong communication and documentation abilities

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
