My client in Bergen County, NJ is looking to hire a Benefits Specialist. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the group benefits programs across the Americas. This role involves working closely with brokers, insurance carriers, and plan administrators to ensure that our benefits offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Analyze and evaluate existing benefits programs, services, and coverage options.
  • Research and recommend new plans based on cost-effectiveness and employee needs.
  • Collaborate with brokers to negotiate with vendors and administrators for optimal plans, options, and rates.
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefit broker plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate data transfer for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Evaluate and streamline internal processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for benefits processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations and timely reporting.
  • Oversee the processing of monthly billings and vouchers for payment.
  • Conduct audits of benefits plans and review data for accuracy and performance.
  • Analyze industry trends and forecast future benefits designs.
  • Monitor administrative costs and recommend cost containment strategies.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment.
  • Provide training and support to local HR benefit staff.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits or employee benefits administration.
  • Experience coordinating benefit administration across multiple business units.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Project and team management/leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of plan designs.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language and federal/state regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines
